Invited by the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a delegation headed by Mr. Wan Jifei, the president of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) visited Estonia during 13 and 16 Sept.2006. Mr. Wan held talks with Mr. Mart Laanemae, the Undersecretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Siim Raie, Director General of the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry respectively.
When meeting with Mr. Mart Laanemae, President Wan expressed that CCPIT values the development of economic and trade relation between both countries by encouraging Chinese companies to tap Estonian market and treat the Baltic countries as a whole market, thereby to develop Sino-Estonia economic and trade cooperation as well as the Sino-Eu cooperation.
When meeting with Mr. Siim Raie, President Wan expressed that CCPIT hopes to strengthen existing cooperation between both parties, suggesting an forum on economic and trade cooperation and development between China and Baltic countries be held yearly in China and Baltic countries by turns.
